Americans know squat about religion
According to this AP report, Americans
are illiterate when it comes to religion.
The article contains an interview with
the author Stephen Prothero, writer
of the new book Religious Literacy.
He has suggested before that a course
in the Bible should be taught in high
schools. I think religion is an integral
part of current events, politics,
and history. Therefore, it wouldn't hurt
to add it to the curriculum. I am
probably guilty of this illiteracy myself.
I could tell you the Monday prime time line up
on CBS but don't ask me to name the
twelve disciples. Ok, I better go and
read my Bible now so I won't go to hell.
