Opposites Attract

This dating columnist says she's "confused" when she sees couples that
aren't in the the same attractiveness level. She especially appears to be
perplexed when a pretty woman is with an unattractive male. It's this
simple: Women are just not that shallow! There I said.

However, recent studies show people do tend to look for similarities in a
partner. I think it's easier to relate to someone who has a similar background
as you. You can communicate better with some in the same social class and
education level. Poor, uneducated girl meets handsome rich guy and live
happily ever after might make for a great plot in a movie (see: Pretty Woman
or My Fair Lady) but relationships are difficult as is without all the added
societal pressures. So most people go for what they know.

Exit question: Do you think opposites attracts?

Taking it back to the old skool:

Opposites attract only at the atomic level. On the macroscopic level, too many variables exist to make predictive behavior. . .one can only recognize general trends which are largely influenced by current mores.

Perhaps we should go back to planned marriages, no?

I meant arranged marriages.

Jason,

I know you're joking but dating is such a hassle that an arranged marriage is sounding good to me.
I kid.
