A Gift?

From MSNBC's First Read:

Bush’s gift to Obama: When President Bush -- thousands of miles
away in Israel -- decided to fire his thinly veiled shot at Obama
yesterday, it was a giant gift to the Illinois senator and his campaign.
Why? One, it essentially kept Clinton on the sidelines just two days
after her big West Virginia victory. Two, Obama’s opponent was no
longer Clinton or McCain, but the man with the 27% job-approval
rating. And three, it rallied Democrats to Obama’s side.

I have to disagree that Camp Obama's reaction yesterday was a total success.
Actually, I thought their response was quite silly. They were making a
big fuss over a statement that every politician seeking the presidency should
agree with. We should not be appeasers to terrorists. So to get John Kerry, Joe
Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest of them to get up and arms over that was
clearly overdone.

Yes, it would be smart having all Democrats rally around Obama and attacking
Bush is always a pointer gainer for their side. However, I think they picked the
wrong comment to get huffy puffy on.
