Headlines 08-13-07

'Bush's brain' to leave at end of August- Rove
resigned today. I've been reading some blogs
and seems like no one has a dispassionate view
about him.
America slips in life expectancy ranking- Forty countries,
including Cuba, Taiwan and most of Europe had lower
infant mortality rates than the U.S. in 2004.
Dems fear Clinton may be a negative- Say it ain't
so? Shocking.
Romney wins straw poll- Before Romney supporters
get all happy, it didn't include Giuliani or McCain.
Hey, he still looks presidential.

I'm just wondering how much we can trust counties like Cuba for accurate reporting of these numbers.

From the article:

"Something's wrong here when one of the richest countries in the world, the one that spends the most on health care, is not able to keep up with other countries," said Dr. Christopher Murray, head of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington.

Methinks this has more to do with universal healthcare (socialized medicine) than it does with truth in numbers.
