International Community

Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured
the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future. His
diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world
must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the
majority of the world's population.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee
Why should I be so enamored by international opinion? They don't hold the same
values and attitudes as I do. The U.N. was an absolute embarrassment a few weeks
ago with crazy speeches by Iranian President Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, and
Moammar Kadafi.

The U.N. is incapable of implementing any meaningful sanctions
against Iran. A U.N. study accuses Israel of war crimes. Scotland released
a terrorist because of "compassion."

Afghanistan is in trouble and the international community is not willing
to offer greater support when the country is in need. To be fair several countries
have lost soldier's in the coalition effort in Afghanistan. Right now is the time make
sure that Afghanistan doesn't return to a terrorist safe haven and many countries
are declining to send more troops for security. Americans voted for a President who
promised to play nice with the Europeans and they still refuse to send more troops
to Afghanistan
.

So I ask again: Why am I supposed to care what the international community thinks
of the United States? They don't seem to share the same values and attitudes I do.
